Whew! What a fun, exciting and exhausting couple of days we just spent at market in Dallas. “We” is me and my honey, the “Paper Boy” as he introduces himself to reps who are amazed and impressed by his presence and participation. The truth is, he’s the best shopping partner I can imagine. He finds new products that I might not otherwise see (as he goes on random walkabouts in the showrooms when I’m placing orders), talks me into taking good risks, talks me out of things that probably aren’t a good fit for the store, and is there to support me 100%. I’m lucky to have my best friend as my not-so-silent business partner, and I look forward to our twice a year getaways to the Big D.

But what you really want to know is what did we find and when is it coming! A special thanks to everyone who participated in our online survey–your feedback really did help a LOT! We’ll be posting details on our Facebook page with lots of pictures as new products start to arrive (so if you don’t already like us you should), but here are a few highlights:

We’re excited to add All For Color (formerly Room It Up). Great gifts and accessories for girls of all ages including the cutest shower caddies ever–perfect for summer camp or dorm life.

Hoot Candles are a perfect fit–great smelling soy-blend candles and diffusers made in Oklahoma. Two OSU grads launched the company, which is based in Edmond. And did I mention that the packaging fits the Paper Girl color scheme so well!

Primitives by Kathy was another wonderful find. Witty, inspiring and heartfelt sayings printed on wood box signs that can be displayed on shelves or walls. Paper Boy’s favorite on the order? “Whatever you are be a good one.” A good motto to live by as a person AND a business!

Thanks to Pinterest, I decided to make my resolutions for 2012 “pretty.” A more attractive to-do list than usual. Number 1, start a blog. I guess now I can officially check that one off my list. I realize that the true commitment is keeping it up, but I’m excited to take the first step…to finally have a place where we can share ideas, showcase our work, and hopefully provide inspiration, just as our customers inspire us every day.

I think I’m even more excited to help my daughter start her own blog. She’s nine, going on sixteen. She puts outfits together like a mini fashionista. She plans to take pictures of her everyday creations and write about what she’s wearing. It’s a fashion blog for kids–kids, like her, who are on a Justice and Target budget. I’m so proud of my girl! It should be a great creative outlet, and a fun way to chronicle her growth. Who knows how far she’ll take it, but I can’t wait to find out!

Same goes for Paper Girl. I hope that you like what you find here on our blog, and that I make it interesting enough for you to keep reading. We have a lot to share, so stay tuned–because the fun is just beginning!
